Dobbins' e-business expertise brings value to buyer and supplier communities
Pantellos, the independent electronic marketplace and supply chain services company for the utility and energy industries, today announced Randall Dobbins as its new vice president, marketplace and corporate development.
Randall is responsible for all facets of the Pantellos electronic Marketplace in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for business growth. He brings to Pantellos and its customers approximately 20 years of experience within the utility and energy industries, particularly in the areas of operations, e-commerce, supply chain management and business development.
We feel that we’re at a real advantage in having found an individual with Randall’s broad expertise and deep industry knowledge to fill this critical position,” said Jim Neikirk, president and chief executive officer for Pantellos. “This role requires thorough experience in e-commerce platforms and operations and a proven track record for successfully channeling partner development. With Randall on board, we are anticipating even further success in helping our buyer and supplier customers streamline their supply chains and realize e-business value.
Prior to joining Pantellos, Randall was responsible for the development and implementation of e-business strategies at WESCO Distribution, Inc. His most recent assignment was to lead the power generation effort of WESCO’s Utility Operations group as well as to work closely with WESCO’s utility customers to satisfy their supply chain cost reduction goals through the effective use of e-technologies. Randall also spent a number of years with Shell Oil Company in a variety of roles including research, supply chain strategy development, and generating total supply chain cost savings.
Today’s business climate is enormously challenging for the overall industry and our customers. It also represents an excellent opportunity for our customers to achieve their supply chain cost targets by leveraging Pantellos’ extensive portfolio of products and services,” said Dobbins. “I am extremely impressed with Pantellos as a business and look forward to working with a team that demonstrates such strong commitment to achieving real business value for their buyer and supplier communities. I am dedicated to helping continue to meet and satisfy customer needs. Achieving this success will ensure that Pantellos remains one of the nation’s leading electronic marketplaces.
