The Technology Center is your guide to conducting electronic commerce through the Pantellos Marketplace. Here you will find an overview of our Marketplace technology, information to help you understand how to connect, and a glossary of e-commerce terminology.

The Pantellos Marketplace consists of a suite of tailored energy and utilities industry e-commerce applications that are layered between a common set of “foundation” platforms. Users access these Marketplace applications through their integrated enterprise systems or via a Web browser and Pantellos.com.

Transaction Hub
The Transaction Hub is the core “exchange” and integration platform of the Marketplace. Based on webMethods Trading Networks integration platform, it connects the trading community, Pantellos and Marketplace applications. The Hub provides secure, reliable delivery of electronic documents between trading parties while supporting a number of e-commerce standards such as xCBL and EDI.

Trading parties may leverage their enterprise supply chain systems – eProcurement, Order Management, ERP or EAM systems – by connecting these systems to the Pantellos Transaction Hub to conduct e-commerce. Refer to the Getting Connected section for information on how to connect to the Transaction Hub.

Web Portal
The Pantellos Web site enables customers to enter the online Marketplace through buyer or supplier Marketplace access buttons. It provides easy access to all of Pantellos’ Web-based services as well as detailed, secure trading community information and personal profiles.

Based on Netegrity Siteminder, the portal provides security and authentication services such as Single Sign-On for Marketplace Web application users.

Content Engine
Powered by Requisite Technologies, the content engine manages Marketplace e-commerce catalogs for both buyers and suppliers. It provides powerful content management and control features for suppliers. Not only can pricing and content be easily updated, but suppliers can manage different versions of catalogs for different buyers.

For buyers, the platform publishes catalogs in standard formats that meet most ERP and eProcurement standards. It also provides RoundTrip services for quick search and retrieval from buyers’ enterprise applications to catalogs residing in the Pantellos Marketplace.

Data Warehouse
The Data Warehouse extracts and consolidates transactional data from both the Transaction Hub and the Supply Chain applications, and then places it into a central Oracle database. The data is then analyzed via the Marketplace Analytics service and Pantellos’ internal financial and reporting systems.

Supply Chain Applications
Pantellos’ Supply Chain applications are Web-based services geared toward providing supply chain management solutions. A Web browser is the only software requirement for utilizing these services. These applications currently include:
· RFx Management
· Auction Services
· Buyer
· Order Management
· Virtual Inventory Management
· Analytics
· Project Collaboration
· Workforce Automation
All applications are accessed via the Web Portal. Many applications are integrated with the Transaction Hub and trading party enterprise e-commerce systems. Examples include RoundTrip, which is used to access Marketplaces catalogs, or the application for reporting and analytics to the Data Warehouse.
